How to Configure MailChimp in Splash Access

Overview

Splash Access integrates with MailChimp to automatically add users who opt in to marketing communications. This guide explains how to generate your MailChimp API key, locate your List ID, and assign lists to individual Access Points.

MailChimp Configurations

1. Log in to Your MailChimp Account

Sign in using your MailChimp credentials.

2. Open Account Settings

Select your account name in the top‑right corner and choose Account from the dropdown menu.

3. Access API Keys

Go to Extras → API Keys.

4. Create or Use an Existing API Key

Generate a new API key or copy an existing one.

5. Add the API Key to Splash Access

In your Splash Access admin panel, go to the Duration Timer section and open the MailChimp dropdown. Paste your API key into the required field.

6. Locate Your MailChimp List ID

In MailChimp, navigate to the list you want to use. Select Settings, then copy your List ID (e.g., 7eb8888145). Do not copy any punctuation after the ID.

7. Assign the List ID to Access Points

In Splash Access, go to Access Point Locations. Enter the MAC address for each AP and assign the correct List ID.

8. Optional: Use Multiple Lists

You can assign different List IDs to different AP MAC addresses if you want to segment data by location or device.

Note: Only users who tick the Marketing Opt‑In box during login will be added to your MailChimp list.
